Hawks are migratory woodland birds that belong to a group of birds known as raptors or 'birds of prey'. This group also includes eagles, falcons, harriers, and buzzards. Raptors are located on every continent except Antarctica, and travel great distances to migrate, hunt, and breed.
During the migration season, the Niagara Region is home to seven different species of hawks as well as many additional birds of prey including falcons and eagles. We invite you to take a look at the resources provided in this website in order to learn more about these creatures, and how better to protect them. |
